Southern Maryland Mat Company is a fully insured business that supplies a variety of high-quality construction mats. Based in Mechanicsville, MD, our company takes pride in having the largest supply of 40-foot bridge mats. We are also the preferred supplier of oil field and pipeline skids.
How Our Construction Mat Company Started
The grandfather of our owner (Gary) worked in the construction sector, performing a lot of excavation work. He passed on a lot of knowledge to Gary’s father (interestingly named Gary as well).
The elder Gary was also involved in construction and wanted to start a business with his son. This dream was within reach because the younger Gary already learned a lot from his father and had no problem further familiarizing himself with the industry.
In 2016, the father-and-son tandem’s plans finally materialized as they founded their own local company in Southern Maryland. Their goal was to serve the better part of the East Coast and expand their product reach worldwide over time.
